Dr. Prashant Gupta is a consultant, specializing in cataract surgery. He is dedicated to achieving exemplary patient outcomes and uses the latest industry equipment and technology. Dr. Gupta is known for his strong focus on patient communication and collaboration with medical teams. He has a proven track record in diagnosing and treating various ophthalmic issues, ultimately enhancing patients’ vision and quality of life.

He has extensive experience, having worked as a consultant at LVPEI, KAR Campus in Hyderabad since November 2022. Previously, he worked as a consultant at the Centre for Sight Eye Institute in Dwarka, New Delhi, from March 2022 to October 2022. He also served as a medical consultant at the IOL Department of Aravind Eye Hospital in Chennai under the guidance of Dr. Haripriya A from 2020 to February 2022.

His surgical experience includes performing more than 5000 cataract surgeries, including over 2500 phacoemulsification procedures. He has also performed various corneal surgeries, including Descemet stripping endothelial keratoplasty (DSEK) and penetrating keratoplasty. Dr. Gupta is well-versed in refractive surgery such as LASIK and PRK, as well as corneal collagen crosslinking for the management of keratoconus.

Dr. Gupta’s educational background includes a two-year fellowship in IOL and anterior segment, including phacoemulsification, from Aravind Eye Hospital and Post Graduate Institute. He also holds a Master of Surgery (Ophthalmology) from JLN Medical College in Ajmer, India, and a Fellowship of All India Ophthalmology Collegium (FAIOC) in Refractive Surgery.

Dr. Prashant Gupta has contributed significantly to the field of ophthalmology through his publications and presentations. His work includes publications such as “Retinal dysplasia: a mimic to malignant ocular pathology” in the Journal of Clinical Research and Diagnostic, and “Alport syndrome with phenotypic marfanoid habitus: atypical case series” in the Journal of EYE. He has presented at various prestigious conferences, including the All India Ophthalmology Conference, where he participated in an Instruction course on TORIC IOL. Dr. Gupta has also delivered talks on topics such as the role of anterior segment OCT in Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He is a member of esteemed ophthalmic societies like the All India Ophthalmic Society, Delhi Ophthalmic Society, and the Cornea Society Of India.
